Promoting learner agency and resilience to enable students to overcome structural and self-perceived barriers to success, Dr. Nakia Mack has dedicated her professional career to emboldening and nurturing students to embrace their transformative personal and educational journeys. Dr. Mack is a native of Philadelphia and currently serves as the Senior Director of Pre-College Programs and Bovard Scholars at the University of Southern California. She has over 18 years of experience in higher education administration, serving in roles as: Director of Pre-College Programs at the University of Delaware, Director of Retention at Cabrini University, Associate Director of Admissions and Programs at Year Up
Professional Training Corps, Director of Pre-Collegiate Programs and Assistant Director of Admissions at Millersville University, Admissions Specialist at Harrisburg Area Community College, and Admissions Counselor at West Chester University.
Dr. Mack earned a Doctorate degree in Education Leadership and Innovation from New York University, a Bachelor of Science from West Chester University and a Master of Education from Cabrini University. Since earning her degrees, she has received several awards, including Talk Magazine’s 2012 Minority Achievers of the Year. Dr. Mack is committed to cultivating hope, engagement, and goal optimization in helping students actualize their full potential.
